Grandma's Spirit

A life whirling out of control can cause strange things to happen in a person's life. I heard a story about my grandmother coming to one of my cousins trying to get through to her to change her life. Her life was out of control through drugs. She tried everything to change but to no avail it became too hard. It landed her in jail. She was obnoxious and her demeanor had changed from a loving and caring person to someone totally different in nature. One night after having a bout with her cellmate she laid down to rest, the spirit of our grandmother came to her. She expressed her disappointment in her and told her that she needed to change her life before it's too late. Crying with tears falling down her face she promised her that she would. To this day she is straight and living for the Lord. The morrow to this story is that sometimes God has to put us in a position where we have no choice but to listen.

Lunchdate with Jesus

I woke up thanking God for another day. As the morning progressed, I had my coffee, but I wasn't very hungry. So breakfast was out of the question. I went about my daily routines. It must have been about 10:30 or 11 a.m. when I decided to go out for lunch. In my decision to go out for lunch, I spoke aloud and said, "Today, Jesus I'm taking you out for lunch and I'm taking you to my favorite restaurant". I got dressed and proceeded to my car. On the way my mind was still on Him. I parked my car and continued into the restaurant and found a seat. I made my order and and ate till I was content. After eating, I sat there and digested my food with pleasure. When I saw my waitress I asked her for my check. She said, " You're meal has been paid for". I responded with a smile, "Thank you". She never said who paid for it and for some reason I didn't ask. The moral to my story is that Jesus has more riches than me that He's willing to share and He ended up taking me to lunch and with Him all things are possible.

**Remember to treat people right because you just never know when you'll be entertaining Jesus**

The Spirit of my Father

My dad had been diagnosed with cancer of the lungs and brain. I was unaware of the severity of his illness at first. I went to the hospital to visit him. He was in good spirits and for me he didn't appear sick. He was talking and joking as usual. Then reality set in when we were told that he may not make it home following a surgery that was performed. Well, he did die in the hospital. The days that followed were filled with pain and tears.  On the day of his funeral which was larger than I expected, full of people. The coffin was open and the viewing was over. I could only see the side view of his face. For some unknown reason my peripheral vision was focused directly on his face in the casket. I felt alone, just me and him. The people on either side of me somehow had blackened out. It was like a tunnel view directly to him only. I don't know how else to describe it, to make you understand. As I continued to stare, suddenly his spirit appeared  it seemed to be laying back down in his lifeless body. My mouth and eyes were opened in amazement. I was not afraid, just couldn't believe what I was seeing. It took me a long time to write about this experience, for fear of what people may think. But  my motto is "let the truth be told no matter what others think and everyone is entitled to their own opinion." It took me 9 years to shared this with anyone. The question that haunts me is "Am I the only one that seen this?"

Fifteen Seconds of Talking to Jesus

The nurse was told that she couldn't have her blood pressure taken, because she just had major heart surgery. She unplugged the life support connected to her battery. She kept telling the nurse(CNA) that she couldn't do that over and over again. She kept unplugging and smiling. A soft spoken voice said, "When someone comes in and says your name, just say your name to them". She continued to listen and look up to the ceiling, while listening to alert sounds ringing in the background. Waiting for someone to call her name. Suddenly she heard someone and replied with her name. I was told that those fifteen seconds with Jesus was a lifesaving experience, literally. The doctor told her she had died for those fifteen seconds. Jesus kept her company and reassured her as she waited. Faith will sustain us.

A Message Foreseen in a Dream that came True

Dreams that foretell the death of someone you love. What would you do?  She awakened drenched in sweat, shaking all over from the cold air chilling the sweat, and very close to tears from the dream. The dream detailed someone she loved having a heart attack and dying. It embedded this question that continued to weigh heavily on her mind, "Should I tell her or keep it to myself?"  Consumed with pain from the dream on a daily basis, and whether she should expose it, she decided to tell her.  One Sunday following church service, she waited for an opportunity to speak to her privately. When the time was right, she told her. To her surprise, she smiled and said nothing. Maybe because she was a Pastor and didn't fear death or she already knew. Anyway, the burden had been lifted off her. She had no more restless nights and her mind was free again. One night around 2 a.m., we received a frantic call from our pastor's daughter. She was screaming for us to come over, her mother was dying. We hurried and got dressed. When we got to her house the paramedics were working to revive her but, it was too late. She had died of a massive heart attack.Aluratek LIBRE eBook Reader PRO Digital Text Reader AEBK01F (Google Affiliate Ad)Sony Red Standard Cover With LED Light For eBook Reader - PRSA-CL10R (Google Affiliate Ad)

Spiritual Intervention

This story takes place in the rural south of Mississippi, in 1946. It was December and cold.  A couple living in a small house surrounded by overgrown, frost covered weeds in the field. The wife was 6 or 7 months pregnant with their first child.   She had explained to her husband that she was afraid of being there alone, during a previous conversation, mainly at night. One day the husband decided to visit their neighbor. He told his wife and she reminded him of her fears and asked him  to be back by dark. He said he would. Time went by and  now it was dusk. She put her coat on and begin walking through and around the dry frost covered weeds and leftovers from a garden using her hands to clear a path for herself. She begin feeling that she's being followed, so she walked even faster. Her pace stepped up a notch to a run. By this time she's running and holding her stomach. Suddenly in the far distance she saw her husband, she called his name but, he didn't answer. The closer she got to him the more hurried she became. She glimpse down at the ground to see were she's running and when she raised her head he was gone. She became startled and begin to fall directly in front of were she thought her husband was, suddenly a wide, white blanket appeared that caught her fall. She don't remember even touching the ground. She shook it off and proceeded to the house. When she got there her husband and his friend were sitting on the porch, where they had been for several hours.

Babies First, then Life's Teaching Follows

ImageAs babies we rely solely on our five senses. I see a shadow approaching me. When she speaks I listen closely. I turn my head left to right trying to figure out just what that is. I heard that sound before.  She holds me and rubs her cheek against mine and kisses them. I reach out and touch and try to taste what's in front of me. I smell her scent which becomes very familiar. Those senses spark the beginning of emotions. I know that when I cry, someone will come to me. When I'm kissed and held I feel safe and it feels good. Maybe I'm falling in love. These emotions which derived from our senses remain with us and we use them for the rest of our lives.

As we travel through this life,  noone knows but the Father, exactly what road we'll end up on. We are taught to work hard, get an education and everything else will follow.   Utilizing short and long term goals as a step-by-step guide to success. Is it ever told about the trials and tribulations you may encounter along the way. You know those stumbling blocks,  brick walls or even the evil forces of the enemy.  Rest assured satan has the power to  intervene and  disrupt it all.  You ask, "Why?"   Well, the answer is he's doing his job.  Being aware of your capabilities and using it to strengthen your mind can help but learning what God has for you is for you and noone can take it away should be embedded in your heart, mind and soul. Strength when faith is hidden, but not gone. To get that extra ump when needed, here are some Bible verses that will make satan angry:

Seeking Strength

1 Chronicles  16:11
Seek the Lord and His strength, seek His presence continually

Strength through Christ

Phillippians  4:13
I can do all things through Him who strengthens me

Romans 12:12
Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulations, be constant in prayer
